Dr. Tim McGillen has 30+ years experience and has practiced in Merrillville since 1979. He holds an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a graduate degree from Indiana University’s School of Optometry. Dr. McGillen is National Board of Examiners in Optometry board certified, American Board of Optometry board certified, and Indiana Optometry Board licensed to examine and treat various anterior diseases of the eye. His advanced training and licensing includes diagnosis and management of; glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, eye injuries, eye infections, pre and post operative LASIK & PRK refractive care, post-operative cataract care, and dry eye. Dr. McGillen is past President of the North West Optometric Society and currently serves with several nonprofit charities. He is a father and has been married to Brenda for 35 terrific years. When not practicing optometry, Dr. McGillen currently enjoys; bicycling, sailing, snow skiing, and travel.
Amy Petkus received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she received multiple clinical honors and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Petkus is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa, International Optometric Honor Society. Her special interests include specialty contact lenses fittings, diabetic eye exams, dry eye treatment, children’s exams and post-operative cataract care.
Dr. Reham Baghdady holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and attended the Illinois College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2016. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association and is a part of the Illinois College of Optometry Alumni Association. She is certified in Orthokeratology and her special interests are in ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lenses. In her free time, Dr. Baghdady, enjoys fashion, cooking, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. She began practicing optical medicine in 2016 and joined Ossip in 2018 and is originally from Crown Point, IN.
